Just been on Richard Byrne’s great ‘freetech4teachers‘ site (definitely worth a look) and found this:

It’s a great starting point for discussing the development and future possibilities of technology… What do you think?

Here is a wiki that shares a bunch of great tools for teachers looking to integrate more technology into their classrooms. There’s some excellent tools here – thanks to Drew Buddie for initiating and managing this list! Can you think of any more to add?

Thought I’d better cross-pollinate for the benefit of my students… :)

As ‘gwagrade5‘ was my class site LAST year, this years G5 students came up the name ‘g5dragons.’

It is VERY interesting (for me anyway!) to see the difference between my first attempt last year where the students had very little control over the content of the site AND the posts are generated by teachers, and this year where the content is mostly guided by students. The obvious benefit that I can see is how much more ownership the students have – how proud they are AND how willing they are to share it with their friends and family around the world.

Prezi is an excellent alternative to PowerPoint and like Slideshare does for PPT, Prezi shares other ‘experts’ presentations.

And this is a GREAT presentation from Jackie Gerstein on the practical application of technology in the classroom…:

And another one specifically for tips on using Google from Tony Vincent…

I brainstormed why it is important to share the process of the PYPX on mindmeister (a great tool for kids to brainstorm/mindmap with their group):

Unrelated to my usual posts about setting up a blog – and making it look cool :) – this one is for any PYP teachers who are about to embark on an exhibition… Like me!

Here are some links that you could find useful:

http://www.shambles.net/pages/learning/ib/ibpyp/: has a range of links to other PYP sites. ‘Shambles’ has some other great resources too!

http://inquiryschools.net/: a great site with some freely available  movies from experts around the world

http://pypexhibition.ning.com/: a ning where over 196 ‘exhibitionists’ share their knowledge, understanding, ideas and questions

http://pyplibrary.wikispaces.com/: a collection of books relating to the attributes and attitudes of the PYP

http://occ.ibo.org/ibis/occ/guest/home.cfm: and of course the ‘bible’ :)
